Around the walls spreads one of Montenegro’s main resort and nightlife centers, and in high summer its beaches, Promenade and clubs fill. There are two Budvas, and both are real: the walled town and the resort strip around it, old and unashamedly commercial, a working town and a holiday machine at once. The reason to choose Budva over a quieter town is that both sit within a ten-minute walk of each other, with Kotor and Sveti Stefan a short bus ride away. This guide is written for women 50 and over traveling on their own.
