The truth about the trip

If you planned a trip with one of the guides, or took one, we would like to know what you could follow, what you had to look up elsewhere, and what the book never answered. Short answers are fine; a blank is useful too.

Every reader who sends this back can choose another city in the series free, as an ebook. This is not a request for a review. The answers go to the author and into the next edition.

1. Where did you decide to stay, and what in the book made you choose it? What did you still have to look up elsewhere before booking?

2. Pick two of the day plans. Could you follow each one as written? Note anything you needed that the book did not tell you: how to get there, how long it takes, whether to book, how tiring it is.

3. Pick one restaurant or café from the book and imagine going alone. Did the entry give you enough to decide? Which entries felt like they were only "well reviewed" with nothing more?

4. Was there a famous sight or experience you expected the book to have an opinion on (worth it, skip it, only if...) where it did not commit?

5. Where in the book did you stop reading, skip ahead, or feel talked down to? Quote the line if you can.

6. What question about this trip did the book never answer? Up to three.

7. If you took the trip: which piece of advice proved most useful on the ground?

8. If you took the trip: which piece was wrong, out of date, or misleading? Name the place and what you found.
